A European Summer
A European summer is a must-have over the cold winter months, so MWW took a trip through the hottest cities and hit the streets to find out the latest trends.
The beauty buzz has hit London, with the summer fashion vibe being both strong and subtle. The London look is profound with glamorous statement lips in bright reds and bold pinks with nude eyes. 'Colour Pop' fashions for the summer months offer striking bright contrasts with subtle lips to tie in the vivd shades. Sky high platforms are a must have but for a more casual take on this summer's hottest fashion, why not try a cute ballet flat or an intricate sandal. Clear hot days have many a Londoner also sporting sunburns in shades of pink to scarlet! Everyone is on sale, so if you're about to head over bring an empty case. Great buys can be found in designer boutiques as well as amazing bargains found in market places and vintage stores.
Hot, sunny and oh so chic is the vibe in Paris. So perfect the women are virtually devoid of makeup, spare eyeliner and suntans. All the colour is in their amazing clothes, no matter how casual. From boho to classic and elegant, Parisan women are not shy about colour. It is extremely bright, very intense and strong. French women love their scent, and what they're saving on makeup, they're spending on fragrance as well as fashion.
Each country will wear things a little differently...The Italian women were stepping out in cork wedges, sandals and killer heels. Designer handbags were spotted on the arms of every second person, usually beside one or two bags of shopping. First prize goes to a mother and daughter, head to toe in Pucci and looking amazing! Clothing trends included high waisted trousers, shorts and jeans, wearing an all-white ensemble, and slim style harem pants.Statement belts over tops or dresses and large sunglasses completed the Roman summer outfits. Italian women are effortlessly chic...
It wasn’t as hot on our days here, so many people were sporting lightweight jackets or wraps over their Summer clothing. Dressed more informally than the women in Rome, the same super bright colours spotted in the previous cities were spotted in florals, geometric prints or solid colour.Wearing ankle or full length boots with shorts was a very popular look, and they key fashion accessory was very brightly coloured large bead necklaces. Each city we visited had a large number of one-off gorgeous boutiques. Designer stores in each city displayed a variety of looks from surprisingly conservative and dark (Dolce & Gabbana) to incredibly varied (Roberti Cavalli) the ranges including brights through to neutrals, from florals to solid colour.
London, Paris, Rome and Barcelona seem to have it all when it comes to fashion. The vibe slightly differs in each city while still holding similarities and individuality with contrasting pieces such as bright, bold colours mixed with subtle, soft textures to create the perfect summer outfit for an even more perfect European Summer.
