Whitehouse Opens its Doors in Surry Hills
The renowned Australian fashion college, the Whitehouse Institute of Design opened its doors to young design aspirators for its Sydney Open Day. Set in the sleek new campus in Surry Hills, current students exhibited their burgeoning talents with a runway show for First-Third Year creations. Closely adhering to the emergent fashion trends on the international catwalks, students exhibited zesty works that payed close attention to neutrals, draping, florals and sparkles as well as a few bursts of colour- testimony to the Whitehouse Institute’s ability to groom future designers for worldwide consumer success.
In a competitive industry, the Whitehouse Institute successfully showed the public why Australian fashion should be put on the map. The Open Day runway show, which will run from 11:30am & 1:00pm on 25th- 26th June at the Surry Hills campus, exhibits the latest and greatest for future Australian design potential.
Star graduate student Jana Pavasovic, whose collection adorns the new entrance foyer, joined her peers in exhibiting their latest bodies of work. Inspired by the dark psychological hysterics of the 19th Century, her range focused on a black colour palette with fine detailing.
